Ish is a personal assistant. This policy explains how it handles your information.

Information we collect

When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. When you link a phone, we collect your mobile number and verification information. We retain a record of each verification-text request, including its time, IP address, and the notice shown when you requested it. This is separate from permission to receive ongoing assistant messages. We store your SMS consent choice and, when you opt in, the time, IP address, and disclosure you agreed to. We store your messages to operate the assistant and respond to your requests.

Free trials and abuse prevention

You can use a trial before adding a name, email address, or password. A session cookie gives this browser access to that account. To limit repeated free-credit claims, Fingerprint processes browser, device, and network signals when you request web trial access. Phone trials also use carrier and number-validation checks. These checks decide eligibility for free credit; a device match does not sign you into an account or recover its conversations.

Trials and unfinished signups do not expire because of inactivity. We retain your account and conversations so you can return to them. Content shared with other household members or recipients can remain with them after you close your account. Hashed device and phone eligibility records remain after account deletion so deleting an account or clearing cookies does not renew a free allowance. These fraud-prevention checks are separate from optional website measurement and are not used for advertising.

How we use it

We use account information to identify you and operate your account. We use your mobile number and verification information to confirm that you control the number. For the Ish SMS assistant, we use your messages to respond to you and provide the replies, reminders, and task updates you request. We use consent and opt-out records to honor your messaging choices. We also use information to support and improve the assistant. We do not use your assistant messages, connected-app content, or mobile information for advertising or marketing.

Website measurement

We measure visits to our public pages, example selections, message-box engagement, SMS-link clicks, signup steps, trial attempts and successful trial starts, and completed account registrations to understand which campaigns bring people to Ish. A first-party cookie stores a random browser identifier and campaign tags and Reddit click identifiers for up to 30 days. Known referring sites can supply a source when campaign tags are absent. If you register during that time, we associate your registration with those tags. Direct return visits retain the campaign information. Our team receives event summaries through our internal Slack usage feed, including campaign tags and random identifiers, without the contents of your messages. We use the Reddit Pixel on public marketing pages and Reddit’s Conversions API to measure advertising results. Reddit can receive event names and times, click identifiers, pseudonymous browser identifiers, and browser/network signals from the pixel. We do not send your email, phone number, assistant messages, or connected-app content to advertising platforms for this measurement.

We honor Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals for this website measurement. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser. Blocking cookies may affect sign-in. Contact us to request deletion of information associated with your account.

Sharing of mobile information

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

This protection includes your mobile phone number, SMS opt-in records, and messaging consent. We do not sell or share that information with third parties, affiliates, or lead generators for marketing or promotions.

We do not sell, rent, or lease your personal information.

SMS program

Start at ish.support/sign-up, save your account credentials and verify your email, then enter your mobile number and request a one-time verification text. By selecting Verify and continue with a correct code, you agree Ish can text you about your work. Requesting a code alone does not enroll you in ongoing texts. In User Settings, the separate SMS consent checkbox starts unchecked when linking or changing a number. You can manage messaging there or reply STOP to opt out. Initial phone verification follows email verification and completes signup; later settings require sign-in. Each household receives an assigned Ish number for its conversations.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out at any time.

Your messaging choices and support

Reply HELP to your Ish number for help, or email jackie@ish.support. Reply STOP to that number to stop assistant text messages. After opting out, an existing customer can reply START to the same assigned Ish number to resubscribe and receive a confirmation. START does not create an Ish account.
